She hopes to bring her producing experience and creative vision to this year’s telethon to make it the best one yet. Being able to be a part of this Hofstra television tradition is a true honor for Emilie and a great way to end her career at Hofstra.
As a BS student in TV/Film, Haley has an appreciation for both television and film mediums. Being a part of the Max Kolb Telethon is great opportunity to use her skills in TV production on a show that highlights film students with whom she can identify. Besides Max Kolb, Haley is currently interning at Viacom in the Nickelodeon On-Air Promos Department where she hopes to grow or find a similar career. Her role as production manager gives her the opportunity to practice her logistical and management skills for whether she decides to go down a production management track, or apply those abilities to give her the edge on the creative track that she most likely sees herself on, post-graduation.
Matt Giudice is a Film/TV Major at Hofstra. His work at the university includes being a Package Producer for the sketch comedy show Thursday Night Live, aswell as being the Associate Producer for an upcoming children's comedy show entitled Keep it Classy. Matt currently interns at the popular sketch comedy youtube channel BarelyPolitical. In the futre after graduation Matt hopes to work for the internet and help make content for the web, whether that is writing, editing, or anything in between.
Jessica is a senior at Hofstra University studying a degree in Television and Business. During her four years at Hofstra Jessica has become greatly involved in the HEAT Network, producing Sports Beat and directing for Hofstra Today, Directors Cut and Thursday Night Live. In addition to her work at Hofstra Jessica has interned at the Fox News Channel for On the Record with Greta Van Susteren and is currently an intern at MSNBC with the Directors Department. Jessica hopes to one day be the director of NBC’s The Today Show. Jessica is excited to be working on the 13th Annual Friends of Max Kolb Telethon and to be ending her Hofstra directing career on such a high note.
Kelsey Usher is a dual major in Television Production and Drama here at Hofstra, and has worked on various productions for both departments including HEAT shows, such as Sports Beat, and behind the scenes on Main Stage Productions, such as Gypsy. She is currently interning at Elvis Duran and Z100 Morning Show and had a past internship at Jarrett Creative Group. She’s hoping to stay in New York after graduation, but is open to all possibilities. She’s excited to be taking charge of premiums this semester with Haven Alba and believes it will be one of the best years yet.
Peter R. Gershon
In a teaching career spanning 35+ years, Dr Peter Gershon has won three distinguished teaching awards. He has produced two documentaries for public television but his effect on the television industry is much greater, with former students in every facet of broadcast & cable television, and advertising, from NY to LA. He has been involved with The Friends of Max Kolb Telethon since its inception in 2001. His hope for this year’s telethon is the same as it is every year: that it continues to provide a lifeline for those who might otherwise be forced to choose between their love of film-making and paying the bills.
Haven Alba is a Senior working towards graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Television. Haven has worked on numerous HTV productions, including TNL, Hofstra Today, Sports Beat, HNN and Director’s Cut. In addition to production, Haven has many leadership roles on campus. She is a proud sister of Delta Gamma Fraternity, a Resident Assistant and President of National Residence Hall Honorary. Haven has had two internships at NBC during her senior year, first with LXTV and currently with NY Live. After Graduation, Haven plans to move to the Big Apple and work for a Network such as NBC and eventually becoming a Production Manager or Producer. She is very excited to be working on the Thirteenth Annual Friends of Max Kolb Telethon this year and hopes that it will bring in more donations than ever before.
